How long do projects typically last?

Project lengths vary but typically require 2 to 6 hours to complete, depending on the scope and complexity. Each project description includes an estimated time commitment, and during your initial introduction, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss expectations and confirm the time allocation to ensure everyone is aligned.

Can I do a project as a team?

Yes, many projects on Paths can be completed individually or as part of a team. If you prefer a team-based approach, you can either bring your own team members or we can help match you with other students interested in collaborating. Team projects are a great way to bring diverse perspectives to a project and tackle larger or more complex tasks. What happens if I have to drop the project?

If you need to step away from a project, please notify the project provider and Paths support team as soon as possible. Assessing the relevance, depth, and insightfulness of your work, including thought leadership and problem-solving.

3. Initiative

Yes, when creating a project, you can list specific skills, experience, or qualifications to attract the most suitable candidates.

Is there a minimum or maximum time commitment for projects?

Projects can vary in length, from quick engagements of a few hours to longer-term initiatives. You have control over the estimated time commitment, which helps students understand the scope and select projects that fit their availability.

How are students matched to my project?

Students can browse and apply directly to projects, or Paths can recommend suitable candidates based on your project’s requirements. You’ll have the option to review applications and connect with potential matches before making your selection.

Can I work with more than one student on a single project?

Absolutely! If your project benefits from a team approach, you can specify this when creating the project. Paths can help match multiple students to collaborate and bring diverse perspectives to the task.

Can I provide feedback on the student's work?

Yes, we encourage project providers to provide structured feedback on Communication, Work Quality, and Initiative. This feedback helps students develop professionally and also enhances the overall quality of future projects on Paths.

How does payment work for the student’s work?

Payment terms are outlined in the project details. Paths facilitates secure payments once agreed-upon milestones or project completion criteria are met, ensuring transparency for both parties.

What if I don’t receive the quality of work expected?

Paths aims to match you with qualified students; however, if you encounter issues, contact our support team. We can mediate feedback and, if necessary, offer solutions such as additional project support or refunds.

Are applicants considered employees?

No, applicants on Paths are not considered employees. They participate as independent contractors or consultants for the duration of each project. This means they are not entitled to employee benefits, and both parties are responsible for clarifying project expectations, timelines, and deliverables upfront. Paths facilitates a structured project experience but does not create an employment relationship between students and project providers.
